Nominations for MPHA Board of Directors Due by Sept. 16

The MPHA Board invites you to MAKE A DIFFERENCE and work with us to help preserve and enhance the historical character and quality of life in Myers Park.

DEADLINE: Please submit nominations for the 2017-2018 MPHA Board by Sept. 16.

Together we will work to:

  • Champion conservation and replanting of our legendary tree canopy
  • Seek responsible building according to established rules, including consulting with legal counsel
  • Advise members who have sensitive or pressing neighborhood concerns
  • Maintain an active relationship with our community law enforcement officers

If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a member of the MPHA Board, please contact Nominating Committee Chair Michael Abbott, or any current MPHA board member. We would like to add 3-5 new board members for a total of 21-23.

All MPHA members are eligible, yet priority interests include a passion for Myers Park, demonstrated community service, experience including yet not limited to: public relations, marketing management, accounting, computer science-website management, city government, legal, real estate, landscape, zoning, architecture or property development.

The Nominating Committee, which includes both current MPHA Board and non-board members, will meet after Sept.16 submissions to finalize a recommended slate of nominees and board officers.  This slate will be approved at the MPHA Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Duke Mansion.
