Myers Park Residents,
AN UPTOWN-SCALED BUILDING IS COMING TOO CLOSE TO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD!
Yesterday, the board of Myers Park℠ Homeowners Association (MPHA) called an emergency meeting to meet with the developer and counsel about a proposed rezoning (Petition # 2017-177) that would allow a 20-STORY, 530,000-square-foot building plus a 240-room hotel at 3rd/4th, Baldwin and Queens Road. We also heard from representatives from the Cherry and Elizabeth neighborhoods.
MPHA is opposed to this rezoning for the following reasons:
- The building will be nearly 3X HIGHER than current zoning allows.
- The density is expected to TRIPLE TRAFFIC.
- It is out of character with the Cherry neighborhood and adjacent neighborhoods Myers Park and Elizabeth.
ACTION NEEDED FROM YOU:
BEFORE the City Council votes on the proposed rezoning THIS MONDAY, JUNE 18, if you are opposed, we urge you send an email to our Representatives stating “WE ARE AGAINST PETITION #2017-177.”
